We are looking for a committed Rig
Manager to join our team in the Egyptian
Drilling Company (EDC). EDC is growing
and the function as Rig Manager is
essential for our continuous success in
the market. The position location will be
based onshore in Gabon, and you will be
reporting into the Offshore Operations
Manager.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing our
newbuilding jack-up rig which entails its
safe and smooth operation and that our
contractual obligations are adhered to. In
addition, it will be your responsibility that
the overall rig maintenance complies with
our high standards, in order to provide a
safe working and living environment for
our employees.
You will be accountable for the budget,
and be expected to provide leadership for
our offshore personnel. You will conduct
weekly rig visits and ensure that our rig is
in compliance with Class and Flag State
requirements at all times. You will have a
strong focus on cost control and maintain
a constant dialogue with our customers in
order to ensure client satisfaction.
Furthermore, you will follow up on training
programmes, audits and maintenance
relating to the rig.
We are looking for
You have extensive experience within
drilling operations including 2-3 years of
experience as a Rig Manager. You may
have a background as Senior Toolpusher
or Rig Engineer with thorough jack-up
experience. You are a computer literate
and have a profound understanding of
budgeting. You are an experienced leader
and have a strong focus on team work.
You are a dynamic problem solver, striving
for delivering high quality daily operations.
Through your experience as a leader or
manager, you have developed strong
communication skills in order to manage
and enhance performance. Moreover, you
hold a valid IWCF Certificate.
Fluency in written and spoken English and
French is a pre-requisite.
